Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has charged the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) with the responsibility of conducting an investigation into the shooting of two people by the police during a land dispute in Kimwani area, Tinderet constituency.
During the funeral of the victim who was shot two weeks ago, Cherargei said that putting the officers responsible for the shooting in jail will, in fact, bring back the trust of the people towards the police force.
The senator insisted that the provision of justice to the victims and the families of the deceased is the main factor that will keep trust between the police and the communities they serve.
