The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed reports circulating online claiming that Jumaisi Khalusha, the main suspect in the gruesome Kware murders, has been re-arrested.

Khalusha, who escaped from Gigiri Police Station on August 20, 2024, remains at large. Following his escape, Kenyan police offered a reward of KES 1 million for information leading to his arrest.

This week, unverified reports emerged online alleging that the fugitive had been apprehended while attempting to flee aboard a matatu. The DCI has now confirmed these claims are false.

“We wish to clarify that the information about his re-arrest is false. Collins Jumaisi remains at large,” the DCI said in a statement.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the public for their continued support and cooperation in the ongoing search for Khalusha. Your willingness to share information is highly appreciated.”

The DCI reiterated its appeal for public assistance, encouraging anyone with credible information on the suspect’s whereabouts to reach out via the toll-free number 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000. A cash reward of KES 1 million remains in place for information that leads to his capture.
