Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has moved to alleviate fears of a planned strike by unionisable Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) workers, saying air travel will not be impacted.
In a statement, KCAA said all its essential operations, including air traffic control, navigation, and safety oversight, are operating normally.
They assured that the airplanes using Kenyan air space, whether taking off, landing, or passing through, are safe
“We remain to fulfill our mandate under the Civil Aviation Act uninterrupted,” the Authority stated, claiming its services are in accordance with international norms by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The assurance came after a threat by airport staff to stage a strike, raising concern among airlines and passengers.
KCAA confirmed that it remains committed to making Kenya’s air safe, secure, and efficient, and thanking stakeholders for their continued support.
