Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has praised women as the “engine of society,” hailing their resilience in balancing household responsibilities with business, farming, and other income-generating activities.
Speaking during a meeting with more than 4,500 grassroots women from Mbeere North Constituency, the DP commended their dependability and commitment to community development.
“Women keep promises and are dependable once they commit themselves to a course. They are central to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” Kindiki said.
He used the platform to update residents on ongoing development projects in the constituency, including agricultural productivity programmes, market construction, job creation initiatives for the youth, rural electrification, water supply, and road infrastructure.
Kindiki also drummed up support for Leonard Muthende, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate in the upcoming November 27 by-election. He urged voters to back Muthende to sustain the development agenda started by the immediate former MP Geoffrey Ruku, who was recently appointed Cabinet Secretary by President William Ruto.
“Let us continue the good work by ensuring Leonard Muthende takes over and builds on the foundation laid by CS Geoffrey Ruku,” he said.
