A viral image has emerged on social media showing the Embakasi East MP Babu Owino merrymaking with President William Ruto’s son Nick Ruto.
In the image, Babu and Nick, along with their friends, are captured seated in what appears to be a nightclub, with several bottles of liquor in front of them.
Taking to social media, the outspoken lawmaker clarified that the image was taken in 2018 and does not reflect his current lifestyle.
Babu said he last took alcohol on January 17, 2020, after the DJ Evolve shooting incident, adding he has been sober ever since, close to five years now.
He seized the opportunity to drum up support for his 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial bid, saying he would transform the lives of Nairobians the way he transformed his.
