The construction of Talanta Stadium, a 60,000-seater state-of-the-art sporting facility along Ngong Road in Nairobi, is nearing completion.

The facility, a brainchild of President William Ruto’s administration, is poised to redefine Kenya’s sports scene, reaffirming the government’s commitment to nurturing and monetising youth talent, especially in sports.

With the construction in the homestretch, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, Dennis Itumbi, announced that the facility will be ready to host the 2025 Jamhuri fete on December 12.

This year’s celebrations, Itumbi announced, will be held under the general theme of Tourism, Wildlife, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

On Friday, September 12, he held a meeting with the Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Rebecca Miano, where they agreed on forming an initial team to develop a comprehensive concept for the fete.

Once the concept is finalised, detailed planning for the celebrations will begin.
