Principal Medical Services Secretary, Dr. Ouma Oluga, visited the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mombasa on Thursday to review new changes in specialist treatment and engage with medical practitioners on the ground.
Dr. Oluga visited several significant centres among them the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Paediatric Accident and Emergency Centre, the Newborn Unit and the Cancer Radiotherapy Centre.
The centres have been set up in order to bring together key services for patients from the Coast region and other regions within the country.
He also led a session of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and praised their work towards providing healthcare to the masses and encouraging the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program.
The PS was led around the hospital by Director of Quality Assurance and Facility Outreach Dr. Geraldine Kawira Munene, joined by Dr. Mohammed Hanif, Dr. Salma Swaleh, and Dr. Shen Patta.
