Murang’a Community Health Reforms Get a Shot in the Arm from the Government

The government’s new reforms will make Murang’a community health services more efficient and people-centered.

There is a digital registry of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) for greater transparency, ease of service delivery, and accountability.

The Lipa Mdogo Mdogo plan is helping families cover healthcare costs without losing access to quality healthcare.

Addressing the people in Mathioya during Jamii Imara Mashinani Program, Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni expressed that the reforms are part of the government’s approach towards revamping community health systems, which is a building block to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

She indicated that listening to citizens and speaking directly to them is at the heart of improving healthcare delivery.

The health of all Kenyans is our priority. Health remains a national priority, and these reforms are aimed at taking services to the people,” said Muthoni.
