Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, is in Lusaka, Zambia, where she joined regional counterparts for the official opening of the Second COMESA Health Ministers’ Meeting.
The forum has brought together ministers, senior health officials, and development partners from the member states to propel a common agenda from the building of strong health systems and the promotion of local manufacturing of medical equipment to speeding up preparedness for upcoming pandemics.
The two-day gathering is a follow-up on pledges made during the inaugural session in May 2024.
The representatives will be laying out tangible measures to tackle regional health priorities and how to work together more closely to tackle matters of interest to the whole region.
