President William Ruto has fulfilled his commitment to pay KSh 1 million each to all 27 Harambee Stars players and 15 members of the technical bench for every CHAN win.
On Sunday, August 3, Harambee Stars recorded an important 1-0 win against DR Congo in a riveting match played at Kasarani Stadium.
As such, President Ruto, as announced by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, disbursed KSh 42 million to the team in fulfillment of his pledge.
The money was delivered to the team by Sports Ministry officials led by Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya.
As per the president’s pledge, a similar reward awaits the team after Thursday’s game against Angola.
President Ruto promised the team KSh 600 million should they win the CHAN tournament.
