Paradiso Kabaddi Club continued their dominance and unbeaten streak in the second leg of the National Kabaddi League, branded Kabaddi League Mtaani, held last weekend at Kasarani, Nairobi.

After the conclusion of the matches on Saturday, Kenya Kabaddi Sports Federation (KKSF) Competitions Manager Perpetual Muthoni Mbutu acknowledged that defending champions Kenya Police Service (KPS) may struggle to retain their title this season.

She praised Paradiso — the surprise package from Marurui, Kiambu County — for their impressive performance.

“I’m glad to see the growth of Kabaddi in Kenya. We need more clubs like Paradiso to challenge the institutional teams. This shows it’s time to dig deeper into the grassroots, to discover and develop raw talent from estates and rural areas,” Muthoni said enthusiastically.

Log leaders Paradiso extended their fine form with a 63–52 win over Administration Police Service (APS) B in game one, building on their strong showing during the first leg two weeks ago.

In game two, Kasarani’s Panthers were defeated by KPS, who rallied to a 33–24 victory.

Panthers head coach Owen Mucheru expressed frustration following the loss, citing injuries that sidelined three of his key players.

APS A edged out National Youth Service (NYS) B 24–18 in game three, while Prisons Kenya overpowered NYS A 43–31 in a dominant display.

The highlight of the day was the only women’s beach kabaddi match, where players from Administration Police Service and Kenya Police Service teamed up to face NYS.

In a thrilling contest marked by flair, confidence, and resilience, the combined police side came from behind to win the final quarter and seal a narrow 22–18 victory over the spirited NYS team.
