Ten Members of the Nyamira County Assembly (MCAs) have been expelled after being accused of operating a breakaway faction known as the “Nyamira County Mashinani Assembly.”
A report tabled called for their seats to be declared vacant.
The MCAs include Rigoma Ward’s Nyambega Gisesa and Bokeira Ward’s Joel Ombongi, alongside Martha Marwa, Jeliah Nyakang’i, and Beatrice Onyancha, among others.
Two other MCAs, Abel Mokaya and Lameck Sikweya Enana, have been suspended from seven sittings and 60 days, respectively, further fracturing the assembly.
