The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a stern warning against unlawful conduct during the planned Saba Saba protests set for Monday, July 7, 2025.
In a statement, police reiterated their constitutional duty to protect life and property while upholding Kenyans’ rights to peaceful assembly.
Addressing rising concerns over potential violence, the NPS said it would allow peaceful protests but warned against criminal acts such as trespassing on protected government installations, damaging property, or blocking roads.
“Any form of unlawful behaviour will be met with the appropriate lawful force to preserve order and protect lives,” said Police Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga.The police further appealed for calm, urging Kenyans to exercise their rights responsibly.
They reassured the public of professionalism and restraint in managing the protests but emphasized that public safety remains a top priority.
