Arsenal have reached a major breakthrough in their summer transfer business after securing a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.
A club delegation travelled to Lisbon on Friday and held successful negotiations at the Estádio José Alvalade, finalising terms with the Portuguese side.
The Swedish forward will join the Gunners for a fixed fee of €65 million, with an additional €10–15 million in performance-based add-ons. Of that, €5 million is tied to easily achievable appearance targets.
Gyökeres, who enjoyed a prolific season in the Primeira Liga, has been a long-term target for Arsenal as manager Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
