Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has praised the Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital (KUTRRH) for its growing specialized medical services, highlighting the successful completion of its first kidney transplant as a significant milestone for both the institution and the nation’s healthcare system.
However, the CS cautioned that with the expansion of transplant services, Kenya must urgently enhance regulatory safeguards to prevent exploitation and malpractice in organ donation and transplantation.
“The Ministry is actively reviewing existing laws and policies to ensure the system is protected from abuse and that organ donation and transplantation are conducted in a fair and accountable manner,” Duale said.
