The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has formally charged Edwin Amagola Munyeti, a Marketing Assistant at Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited, with forgery of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.
Munyeti is accused of forging a KCSE certificate indicating a mean grade of C+ under the name Munyeti Edwin Amakola, falsely presenting it as an authentic document issued by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
In addition to forgery, Munyeti faces charges of fraudulently acquiring public property by unlawfully receiving KSh 9,080,267 in salary payments from the company over nearly 14 years, from March 2010 to December 2023.
He is also charged with deceiving his employer by submitting false academic credentials, uttering a false document, and presenting a forged certificate as part of his employment records.
Munyeti pleaded not guilty before Principal Magistrate Celesa Okore and was released on a Ksh. 500,000 bond. His case is scheduled for mention on May 26, 2025.
