Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has made a bold return to social media, dismissing widespread rumours about her health and addressing speculation surrounding her personal life. The Young, Famous & African reality star recently shared a video on Instagram, refuting claims that she had undergone leg amputation or was in serious rehabilitation.
In the clip, Annie confidently showcased her look and gave credit to her stylist, stating, “Okay, I’m styled by Medlin guys.” The video served as both a fashion statement and a direct response to the swirling misinformation regarding her well-being.
Her reappearance follows a period of social media silence after reports of her separation from Nigerian music icon Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia. In a powerful statement, she erased all previous posts on Instagram and penned a heartfelt message under her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, suggesting a new chapter in her life.
“To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world—God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you and do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. Lots of love, Annie Uwana Macaulay.”
Her return has been met with a wave of support from fans and fellow celebrities, with Nollywood stars such as Iyabo Ojo, Regina Daniels, Ego Nwosu, and Mercy Aigbe celebrating her resilience and elegance. Many praised her strength and grace, commending her for rising above personal challenges.
Annie’s social media break began earlier in the year following 2Baba’s public announcement of their separation. Shortly after, the musician introduced Natasha Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, as his new fiancée. Amidst the public scrutiny, there were also reports that Annie had sought rehabilitation to focus on her mental and emotional well-being.
