President William Ruto today, Tuesday, January 21, chaired the first Cabinet meeting of 2025 at Kakamega State Lodge.
However, whereas all other Cabinet members were in attendance, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi was conspicuously missing.
Cabinet meetings are deemed a must-attend, and Muturi skipping is out of the ordinary.
Muturi’s no-show at the meeting has raised questions as it comes days after he called out President William Ruto’s government for the supposed surge in abductions.
During a presser, Muturi dropped a bombshell, linking National Intelligence Service (NIS) boss Noordin Haji to the reported abduction of his son Leslie Muturi in June 2024.
Muturi said he suffered when Leslie was reportedly kidnapped and urged the government to stop the vice.
His remarks elicited mixed reactions with some officials, including MPs, calling for his resignation for criticising the government that he serves in.
