The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.
In the announcement, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba said a total of 962, 512 candidates sat the exam in 2024, an increase of 6.89% as compared to 2023.
Of the total candidates, CS Ogamba announced that 1,693 scored a mean grade of A (plain). This was an improvement from 1,216 recorded in the 2023 KCSE.
A total of 7, 743 candidates scored A-, 19,150 scored B+, 43,120 scored B, 75,347 scored B- while 99, 338 scored C+.
From the totals above, 246, 391 candidates attained direct university grades, attributed to the new grading system.
The CS commended the students for their resilience and hard work, noting that those who met the university requirements would join various higher education institutions later this year to further their studies.
