The 13th edition of the National Police Service (NPS) Track and Field Championships 2025 wrapped up in high spirits at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata, after two thrilling days of competition.
Graced by the Principal Secretary for Internal Security, Dr. Raymond Omollo, the event celebrated athletic talent, discipline, and community spirit within the Service.
Dr. Omollo praised the athletes for their dedication and highlighted the role of sports in building bridges between the police and the public.
Inspector General Douglas Kanja congratulated winners and encouraged others to keep training, also thanking sponsors like Safaricom PLC and CIC Insurance for their vital support.
A highlight of the closing ceremony was the honouring of legendary NPS athletes, including William Yiampoy and Janet Jepkosgei, who continue to inspire future generations.
Team Nairobi clinched the overall championship title, followed closely by Rift Valley and the General Service Unit (GSU). Celebrations peaked with GSU lifting their Deputy Inspector General in victory after winning the tug-of-war event.
The successful championship drew participation and support from top police leadership and reaffirmed the NPS’s commitment to excellence in both service and sport.
