Tanzanian music star Zuchu has lashed back at critics after a viral video accused her of experiencing sound issues at her recent live performance. The viral video, which has been circulating on social media, reportedly showed her vocals being drowned out, with rumors that her performance was substandard.
In an Instagram post, the Sukari singer blamed blogs and media houses of spreading lies and doubling their fake news on poorly edited content.”Hii fact mmeipata wapi? Kwa kutumia video ya uzushi ilovoliashwa sauti juu?… Show yangu ilikua live YouTube,” she said.
Zuchu condemned what she referred to as shoddy journalism, especially by mainstream radio stations that scoop unverified rumors from blogs and present them as facts. She called on journalists to professionalize and do better research, rather than seek influence.
“Mnataakiwa mabadilike… uko mbele ya national radio unachukua habari za unprofessional blogs.”Despite controversy, Zuchu stood firm, saying her brand is not damaged by hate online.”Hiyo Zuchu athwajwi na watu wanne wa mitandao. Hiyo brand inakubaliwa na MUNGU na hard fans.”She finished up by telling her critics to “enjoy their 15 minutes of fame” while they lasted.
