Zetech University has been formally admitted as a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), a significant milestone that underscores the institution’s expanding global engagement, internationalisation efforts, and research collaboration agenda.

Established in 1913, the ACU is among the world’s oldest and most respected international university networks, uniting more than 400 universities across 40 Commonwealth countries.

Zetech University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njthea Munene, noted that the membership places the University within a highly influential global academic community committed to advancing higher education through collaboration, research excellence, and the exchange of best practices.

“Joining the Association of Commonwealth Universities is a strong endorsement of Zetech University’s academic credibility and global vision. This membership opens new opportunities for international collaboration, research funding, staff and student mobility, and strategic partnerships across the Commonwealth,” Prof. Munene said.

He added that the development reinforces the University’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive graduates, driving impactful research, attracting international students, and positioning Zetech University as a trusted partner in international education.

Kathryn Jack, ACU’s Head of Membership and Events, said the admission unlocks a wide range of opportunities for the University.

“Through ACU membership, Zetech University now has access to international research collaborations, competitive grants and fellowships, policy dialogue platforms, and global benchmarking tools,” she said.

As an ACU member institution accredited by the Commonwealth Secretariat, Zetech University is now better placed to engage in high-level policy discussions and play an active role in shaping the future of higher education across the Commonwealth and beyond.
