Rumours have been circulating on social media that a plan is being hatched to remove National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula from his position.
However, Kabuchai Member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga has quashed the rumours.
Kalasinga, who is Wetang’ula’s home area MP, said he has confidence that the agreement that Ford-Kenya signed with President William Ruto pre-2022 elections will not be broken.
According to the agreement, the lawmaker said Wetang’ula was to be the speaker of the Lower House for five years and nothing less.
"Let me be very clear with you, Ford-Kenya had an agreement with President William Ruto, and that agreement says Moses Wetang'ula will be the speaker for five years, we in Ford-Kenya and the people of this region will fight for whatever comes may," said Kalasinga.
