Criminal lawyer Danstan Omari is demanding a whopping KSh 100 million in damages from Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai for allegedly defaming him on Facebook.

According to a demand letter seen by TUKIO, Omari accused Alai of posting grossly offensive remarks on his Facebook page, which boasts over 729,000 followers.

In the post, Alai allegedly called Omari a “joker”, “mijinga” (foolish), and compared him to a “pig”, claiming that the lawyer was using a lawsuit for political publicity rather than legitimate legal redress.

The lawyer claimed the posts were malicious and severely damaged his professional image and personal dignity.

Apart from the KSh 100 million, Omari is demanding an unconditional apology and retraction, posted with the same visibility as the original statement.
