Information Technology expert and blogger-cum-activist Ndiangui Kinyagia has been missing since police officers broke into his house in Kinoo, Kiambu county late at night on June 22.
Kinyagia who is behind X account was vocal in mobilising support for Gen Z anniversary protests held on June 25.
His whereabouts sis till unknown and according to lawyer Wahome Thuku, cops took away two laptops, two phones, passports and a yellow fever card then locked his house with their padlock.
“Kinyagia was not present during the raid and the officers did not produce a court order allowing them to break into the house. His mother says she last spoke to him on Saturday morning (June 21) but since then all calls have gone unanswered” Wahome said.
Human rights organisation Amnesty Kenya has called for Kinyagia’s release saying he should be arraigned in court if accused of any crime.
The Law Society of Kenya has termed the incident an enforced disappearance and a threat to the rule of law.
