Baltasar Ebang Engonga has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. On July 2, 2025 the court found Egonga guilty of numerous charges. The charges include abuse of power and misappropriation of public funds. The case drew concern countrywide due to Egonga’s prior involvement in sex scandal that contributed to his arrest. .

8 years imprisonment for embezzloement.
6 years and 1 day for abuse of power.
4 years and 5 months for illicit enrichment.
Ban from public office during his prison term.
