A section of Ukambani leaders has criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over remarks they say portray Kenya negatively on the international stage.
Led by the National UDA organising secretary and Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, the lawmakers faulted the former DP for his utterances, arguing he should face the law when he returns to the country.
Speaking at Enzai, in Kilome constituency during a Boda Boda empowerment forum, Musyoka told off Gachagua for alleging the executive had links with terror groups.In his latest attacks, while in America, Gachagua alleged the executive held a meeting in Mandera with three leaders of the Al-Shabaab militia group.
Gachagua also claimed lifting of extra vetting for foreigners seeking IDs in the country was tantamount to putting international security at risk.
The leaders urged political figures to exercise caution and patriotism when speaking abroad, warning that such statements could harm Kenya’s global image and security partnerships.
