The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has formally issued nomination certificates to its candidates set to contest in the forthcoming by-elections, party Chairperson Cecily Mbarire has announced.
The nominees include Tubi Mohammed Tubi, who will fly the UDA flag in the Isiolo South Member of Parliament by-election.
Others cleared to contest on the party’s ticket are Elphas Kainanga Shalakha for West Kabras Ward (Malava), Peterson Njeru Njiri for Muminji Ward, and Dancun Muratia Nyaga for Evurore Ward, all in Mbeere North Constituency, where they will vie for Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats.
“Today, we’ve formally issued nomination certificates to our United Democratic Alliance, flag bearers ahead of the forthcoming by-elections. The nominees are Tubi Mohammed Tubi for Isiolo South Member of Parliament, and Elphas Kainanga Shalakha, Peterson Njeru Njiri, and Dancun Muratia Nyaga for the MCA seats in West Kabras (Malava), Muminji, and Evurore wards in Mbeere North, respectively.,”Mbarire posted.
Speaking during the issuance of the certificates, Mbarire congratulated the nominees on securing the party’s endorsement, describing the move as a critical step in UDA’s preparations for the upcoming by-elections.
She urged the candidates to run issue-based campaigns and engage voters respectfully as they seek to win the confidence and mandate of the electorate.
The UDA Chairperson reaffirmed the party’s commitment to transparent and credible nomination processes, noting that the party remains focused on strengthening its grassroots presence and delivering effective leadership through its elected representatives.
The by-elections are expected to test UDA’s popularity in the affected regions as political parties intensify preparations ahead of the polls.
