UDA Highlights Regional Trade Boost at Holili–Taveta Border

Members of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), alongside UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan and key stakeholders, visited the Holili–Taveta border for an oversight engagement on the operationalization of One Stop Border Posts (OSBPs).

The visit, coordinated by the EALA Committee on Communications, Trade and Investment (CTI), focused on enhancing border efficiency, easing trade, and promoting regional integration across the East African Community.

During the engagement, officials and stakeholders discussed practical measures to improve cross-border operations, reduce delays, and facilitate smoother movement of goods and people.

The party highlighted that a more connected and prosperous East Africa depends on strong collaboration and results-driven action among member states, border authorities, and regional institutions.

The Holili–Taveta engagement underscores Kenya’s commitment to regional trade facilitation and the strategic role of OSBPs in boosting commerce and integration across East Africa.
