TECNO has won two Global Product Technology Innovation Gold Awards at IFA 2026 for its Modular Phone and Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro).
The recognition, announced earlier this month, saw the TECNO Modular Phone receive the Ultra Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award, while the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS won the Miniaturized Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award.
The awards add to TECNO’s growing reputation for product design and innovation, with the brand known among Kenyan consumers for its Camon, Spark and POVA smartphones.
The Global Product Technology Innovation Awards were established in 2014 by IDG, IFA and DIHK to recognise products that set new benchmarks in the consumer electronics industry.
TECNO Modular Phone
The TECNO Modular Phone is a 4.9mm-thick modular smartphone that uses proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology.
The technology combines a precision magnetic array with pogo pin connectors, allowing the phone to work with ten high-performance modules designed to respond to different user needs.
The phone retains a 3000 to 4000mAh battery, while the modules draw power directly from the device. Its portless unibody design also comes with an IP rating for dust and water resistance.
TECNO says the Modular Phone is set to enter mass production soon.
The company has positioned the device as a gateway for personal AI assistants, with its modular design intended to address the challenge of increasing AI computing demands in smartphones.
The phone has also received more than 20 accolades from media outlets, including CNET, Android Authority, Yanko Design and The Verge. CNET and Yanko Design named it among the Best of MWC 2026, while The Verge recognised it as the Best Mobile Tech at MWC 2026.
Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS
The Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro) is a compact water-cooling gaming PC measuring around 6.36 litres.
Its vertical chassis features a panoramic transparent window, combining Italian design with gaming hardware.
The PC is powered by an Intel Core i9 13900HK processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics, with 614 AI TOPS, 145W TGP and DLSS 4.
TECNO says the water-cooling system helps sustain peak frequencies under load, while 15 ports, including OCuLink and USB4, provide connectivity and expandability.
The device is designed for gaming and high-efficiency AI workstation use. Its design was also recognised with Yanko Design’s Best of MWC award.
Other TECNO Devices Showcased at IFA
In addition to the two award-winning products, TECNO showcased the Next Gen Bezelless Concept Phone and the convertible MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro laptop at IFA 2026.
The Next Gen Bezelless Concept Phone features a 0mm screen bezel, while the MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro is a convertible laptop.
Both are concept devices rather than retail products, meaning they are not currently presented as devices available for purchase.
The awards and product showcases highlight TECNO’s continued focus on developing new designs and technology across its device range.
