On Thursday evening, popular rapper Sylvia Ssaru celebrated the release of her new EP at a glamorous event.
Among those who came to support her was Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, also known as Jalang’o, along with other musicians.
Talking to the media, Ssaru mentioned how surprised she was that the MP showed up before her.
“We’ve never really spoken before, but I sent him a message, and he was quick to respond. He asked for all the details—where and when to be there—and he showed up. I was shocked he got there before me,” she said.
When asked if her song Kugongewa was based on her own experiences, Ssaru revealed she had gone through it a few times and even got back at the people involved. Kugongewa refers to situations where someone cheats with another person’s partner.
“It wasn’t just once. I’ve been through it, and I even took my revenge,” she said.
Ssaru also addressed rumors of a romance between her and Trio Mio, which started after behind-the-scenes footage from their music video was shared.
“There’s nothing going on, but you’ll enjoy the show today,” she said.
