The Social Health Authority (SHA) has unveiled four new directors following the conclusion of a competitive recruitment exercise that began on July 29 this year.
In a statement released on Friday, September 12, Board Chair Abdi Mohamed announced the appointment of Diana Marion, Golda Larissa Akolo, Mohammed Alio Ibrahim, and Jonathan Liesen to key leadership positions within the Authority.
Marion, who also serves as the Secretary General of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA), will head the Provider and Beneficiary Management docket.
Akolo will take charge of Benefits and Claims Management, while Ibrahim has been appointed Director of Corporate Services. Liesen will lead the Funds and Finance Management division.
According to SHA, the four bring a wealth of expertise that will be critical in strengthening the Authority’s role in offering financial risk protection and widening access to affordable, quality healthcare for Kenyans.
“The Social Health Authority Board is pleased to announce the appointment of four new directors following a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025,” the statement read.
“This team’s expertise will be crucial in steering the Authority to deliver on its mandate of providing financial risk protection for Kenyan residents and ensuring access to quality healthcare,” it added.
The recruitment attracted more than 400 applicants, with 38 shortlisted before the final selection was made.
The announcement comes just days after SHA advertised over 500 job opportunities across various departments, ranging from county and Huduma Centre operations to finance, ICT, human resources, administration, legal, supply chain management, and internal audit.
Among the vacancies were 47 Principal Registration and Compliance/Claims Management Officers, 183 Senior Registration and Compliance/Claims Management Officers, 99 Senior Registration and Compliance Officers, and 96 Senior Claims Management Officers.
Some of the roles required only a minimum KCSE Grade D, while others targeted senior and principal officer levels.
Applications for the positions remain open until October 2, 2025, with all jobs offered on a permanent and pensionable basis.
