President William Ruto and Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday joined former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Siaya County for the Piny Luo Cultural Festival, a celebration of Luo heritage and unity.

Held at Got Ramogi, the event brought together Luo communities from Kenya and the diaspora under the theme, “Luo Unity in Diversity and in Diaspora.” The festival, which began earlier this week, will conclude on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Raila, in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), expressed gratitude to the two heads of state for attending the cultural event.

“Piny Luo Cultural Festival is today honoured to host H.E. President William Ruto and H.E. President Yoweri Museveni at Got Ramogi. We thank them for creating time to celebrate our culture,” Raila wrote.

During the occasion, Ker Odungi Randa, a prominent Luo elder, conferred the title of Luo elders upon both Ruto and Museveni, signifying their honorary induction into the community.

The festival featured cultural displays, music, dance, and discussions aimed at fostering unity and preserving Luo traditions. It also served as a platform to celebrate the diversity and contributions of the Luo people globally.

The presence of the two presidents alongside Raila highlighted the significance of cultural diplomacy and unity in the region.
