President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to advancing a united and prosperous Africa, signaling a deepening alliance with Senegal under its newly elected President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

In a diplomatic engagement held at State House, Nairobi, President Ruto received a special message from President Faye, delivered by Senegal’s Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Yassine Fall. The message comes at a time when both nations are emerging as key voices in shaping Africa’s political and economic trajectory.

President Ruto emphasized that Kenya and Senegal are aligned in their vision for a self-reliant, integrated continent, underscoring cooperation in trade, innovation, youth empowerment, and continental integration.

“Kenya and Senegal are not just friends—they are partners in the quest for a more unified Africa. Together, we will pursue common goals that uplift our people and secure Africa’s place in global decision-making,” said the President.

The two leaders, both representing a new generation of African leadership, have been vocal on issues of sovereignty, intra-African trade, and sustainable development. This renewed diplomatic engagement signals a potential axis of cooperation between East and West Africa.

Ms. Fall also conveyed President Faye’s interest in strengthening bilateral frameworks that support economic growth, peace, and regional stability.
