Professor Olive Mugenda has resigned as the chair of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) board.
In a statement shared by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, Mugenda tendered her resignation to President William Ruto, effective immediately.
In the communiqué from State House, President Ruto acknowledged Mugenda’s significant contributions to the growth and development of KUTRRH during her tenure and extended his gratitude for her service.
Following Mugenda’s resignation, Ruto, with immediate effect, disbanded the entire KUTRRH board, and the process of reconstituting it has commenced.
Further, KUTRRH CEO Ahmed Dagane has been sent on indefinite leave. Zainab Gura has since been appointed to the position in an acting capacity.
Also, Isaac Kamau, who was recently appointed by the board as acting CEO, has been released from his duties and directed to report to the Ministry of Health headquarters.
