President William Ruto has made fresh changes in key health parastatals, appointing John Munyu as the new chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Munyu takes over from Dr. Charles Githinji, whose appointment has been revoked. He will serve for a three-year term. Munyu, a former CEO of KEMSA, brings over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Meanwhile, Githinji has been named the new chair of the Kenya Biovax Institute, replacing Dr. Swarup Mishra, founder of Mediheal Group of Hospitals, who has recently been linked to an organ trafficking scandal.
The appointments were published in a gazette notice dated July 4.
