ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday held talks with the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Guo Haiyan, focusing on Kenya-China development cooperation.
The meeting attended by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, underscored the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
Odinga acknowledged China’s pivotal role in financing key infrastructure projects in Kenya, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration in trade, industry, technology, and infrastructure development.”The Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Guo Haiyan, accompanied by the CS Treasury and Economic Planning, paid me a visit.
China and Kenya have historic mutual and cordial relations. We collaborate on trade, industry, technology, and infrastructure. Thank you for this visit,” Odinga stated.
China has been a key development partner for Kenya, funding major projects such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), roads, and energy initiatives.
The meeting comes amid ongoing discussions on strengthening Kenya’s economic ties with global partners.
