Acclaimed comedian and actor Njoro Wa Uba is left wondering after his production company, Moonbeam Production, was raided in a brazen break-in. The burglars gained entry into his office and stole high-value equipment worth millions of shillings, bringing his day-to-day work as a creative mind to a standstill.
According to a public notice published on the internet, the robbers stole essential gear like a Canon MK II C100 camera, Sigma lenses, a Ninja Recorder Atomos, and some other high-end film gear. Post-production rigs like an iMac, Asus CPU, Beringa speakers, GoPro cameras, and even a projector were all carted away. The sound department was not spared , with lapelle mics, an F8 recorder, a 552 sound mixer, and a number of Rode boom mics going missing.
On the statement, Njoro’s team urged members of the public to report any of the stolen equipment if spotted being resold in the market. “We are seeking your help in reporting or spotting the following items should you come across them,” the notice read, including contact information for tips.
The raid has triggered sympathy from fans and fellow artists, who have demanded immediate police action and increased security around Nairobi production houses. The actor, popularly admired for his humor role in Njoro Wa Uba, still has not released a statement, but close sources indicate the loss is a significant blow to his projects.
