Reigning BingwaFest National 1500m champion Purity Chepkirui is set to launch her title defense this season during the Nyanza Region leg of the competition, taking place this Thursday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium in Siaya.
Chepkirui is among approximately 500 athletes registered across various track disciplines, all vying for a share of the Ksh 6 million prize pool.
Notably, prize money will be awarded equally to both male and female competitors.
Bib collection is currently underway at the stadium ahead of Thursday’s events.
