Kenya is set to take center stage on the global arena as it prepares to host the inaugural Africa Forward Summit outside France, marking a historic first for a non-Francophone country.
Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano said the summit presents a significant opportunity for Kenya to showcase its global leadership in tourism, diplomacy, and environmental stewardship.“In just a few days, the eyes of the world will be on Nairobi. This is a historic milestone, and there is no better stage for it than the Green City in the Sun,” Miano noted.
Preparations for the high-profile gathering are in their final stages, following a high-level review meeting chaired by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The meeting assessed the country’s readiness and explored the wide-ranging opportunities expected from hosting the summit. The government anticipates the arrival of more than 2,000 delegates, including over 30 Heads of State and leading global investors.
This influx is expected to deliver a substantial boost to Kenya’s tourism and hospitality industry, with hotels, transport providers, and local enterprises gearing up for increased demand.
Miano emphasized that the summit underscores Kenya’s position as a key diplomatic and environmental leader in Africa, while also reinforcing its appeal as a premier travel destination.
Branded under the “Magical Kenya” campaign, the country is preparing to highlight its diverse attractions, cultural heritage, and world-class hospitality to a global audience.“With this summit, we are not only hosting global leaders but also opening our doors to the world to experience why Kenya is truly the Origin of Wonder,” she added.
As anticipation builds, stakeholders across the tourism value chain are optimistic that the event will leave a lasting economic impact while strengthening Kenya’s global profile as a hub for international conferences and investment.
