A new survey by Infotrak has established that most Kenyans prefer Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to be the next deputy president should Rigathi Gachagua be impeached.
Gachagua was impeached in the National Assembly. While his fate now lies in the Senate, discussions have commenced on who is best fit to replace him as a principal assistant to President William Ruto.
According to the findings of the survey published on Friday, October 11, Kenyans have settled on Kindiki, ODM leader Raila Odinga, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga and her Kirinyaga counterpart Anne Waiguru as the potential successors of Gachagua.
In the order of their preference, 20% of the respondents settled on Kindiki, Mudavadi and Waiguru came in a distant second with 5% each.
Wanga and Nyoro were each supported by 4% of the respondents, with only 2% preferring Raila.
