President William Ruto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Kenya’s education sector through increased funding, teacher recruitment and expanded learning infrastructure across the country.

The President said the government is scaling up education opportunities by hiring 100,000 teachers to address staffing shortages and improve the quality of learning. He added that the State has also provided funding for the promotion of 25,000 teachers, a move aimed at enhancing career progression and motivating educators.

In addition, President Ruto noted that the government is investing heavily in school infrastructure, with the construction of 23,000 classrooms and 1,600 laboratories nationwide to support the growing student population and improve learning outcomes.

He made the remarks during the official opening of a new tuition block at PCEA Nyamachaki Comprehensive School in Nyeri Town. During the event, the President announced an additional allocation of KSh20 million to the school to support the expansion of facilities and accommodate more learners.
