Kenyan socialite and content creator Lady Risper Faith has revealed the cost of welcoming her child in the United States, stating she spent approximately Ksh 1.5 million on a caesarean section at a private hospital.

The disclosure shared on social media included receipts showing the expenses incurred during the delivery, raising questions about the cost of childbirth abroad and the medical services.

According to Risper, the Ksh 1.5 million covered expenses in medical fees, hospital stay and associated costs of a C-section in the U.S. where their healthcare expenses are among the highest globally.

“If you are planning to come and give birth in America, just ensure that you have at least Ksh 5 million,” Risper said.

Lady Risper Faith had acknowledged the financial burden that comes with giving birth in America, while at the same time celebrating the benefits of a child born there.

She stated her child has already obtained an American passport and Social Security Number and she is also in the relevant system in the U.S.

“Her future is very bright. She will come to study here; she has never even been to Kenya,” she said.

The revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans focusing on the struggles medical bills while others noted that parents often make major financial sacrifices for their children.

Irynnkenya: “It’s not expensive simply because you’re converting the amount into Kenyan shillings. When you move abroad, you eventually stop looking at every price through the ‘how much is that in Kenya?’ lens, especially when the person paying the bill is earning in dollars.”
