Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has assured President William Ruto of victory in the upcoming 2027 General Election when he will be seeking presidential re-election.

However, the Senate Majority Whip told President Ruto to prepare for a tough contest from other aspirants, warning Ruto that retaining the seat will not be a walk in the park.

Speaking in Kakamega during the burial of MP Malulu Injendi, Khalwale said since 2002, presidents have been serving for 10 years as capped in the Constitution and it won’t be any different this time around.

“In 2027 President Ruto, it is not going to be easy. It is going to be tough. The political culture of Kenya is that a president serves for 10 years. I don’t believe that it is going to be different in 2027, you will be re-elected,” said Khalwale.

Khalwale implored President Ruto to channel development in the Western Region to better his chances of being re-elected.
