Social media is buzzing after Kenyans called upon Mejja, Genge legend, to step in and help TikTok star and media personality Azziad Nasenya, who is reportedly facing an auctioning of more than a whopping KSh 24 million she owes. Netizens aver that but for Azziad’s dance to Mejja’s hit Utawezana, which became viral, his music career would have fizzled out, and so it is only befitting that he “pays it forward” when she needed him most.
But as the debate went viral on the internet, things became interesting when businessman Madollar leaped onto the social media with revelations that shocked the nation about Azziad’s finances. In his explosive posting, Madollar revealed how her fame notwithstanding, Azziad struggles with money. He accused her of making reckless decisions, from purchasing a house in chama contributions to borrowing loans that they inflated to unconquerable figures.
Madollar also claimed Azziad simply came to him seeking a further loan to settle KSh 6.5 million, a suggestion he vehemently opposed. He went so far as to claim that she took up a house for two years without paying rent, amounting to what he estimates is millions lost due to poor budgeting.
To add fuel to the fire, leaked screenshots of WhatsApp messages between the two landed on the internet. In the messages, Azziad was fuming with anger, claiming that she wanted her house “gone for sure” so that she would be able to get “bigger and better things.” Madollar, however, asked her to relax, promising to offer her an exit.
The saga which has been playing out has left fans divided. Whereas some of them empathize with Azziad, calling on people to rescue her, others believe she is struggling financially due to bad decisions.
