Fred Wamale Wanyonyi, a security guard stationed at Stima Plaza headquarters in Nairobi, was shot dead during the nationwide protests.

He was shot at the entrance of the building on Wednesday evening at 4:30 pm. The Kenya Power confirmed the sudden incident in a statement.

Wamale was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”We regret the unfortunate death of Mr. Wamale and are working with the relevant investigative organs to unearth the circumstances under which the incident occurred.” The statement read

Wamale was an employee of Hatari Security, and he was on duty at the Kolobot Road entrance when the incident occurred.

The lighting campany extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Wanyonyi is among the eight Kenyans who lost lives during the anniversary of 25th June 2024 demonstrations nationwide. Kenya Power urges security operators to speed up the investigations.
