More Rain

Kenyans in several parts of the country should expect more rain in the coming days, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said.

In its latest update, the weather office said the rains will continue from Friday up to Tuesday next week.

Regions which might experience very heavy rains are Western Kenya, Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria region. These counties include Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu.

The weather man says in these regions rains are expected to begin in the afternoon until the night time. In addition, there are some places which are predicted to experience showers early in the morning.

In Central Kenya and in Nairobi rain is expected to be mild in most parts. Therefore, residents in Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a and Nairobi will experience cloudy weather in the mornings followed by mild showers.

Some rains are also expected in the coast and eastern part of Kenya although not very heavy as in the Rift Valley and western Kenya.

It should also be noted that temperatures during nights will drop drastically. For instance, during night times the temperatures in Central Kenya will drop to about 10 degrees.

However, during day time the weather is expected to be warm in other regions such as Western, lake Victoria region and the coast. The temperatures during this period are expected to rise to 31 degrees.

This needs to be noted since it rains frequently all around the nation for some weeks now, which results in flooding in certain areas.

Kenyan citizens have been encouraged to prepare themselves since there is likely to be some flooding in certain places.
