Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has signaled Kenya’s intent to scale up strategic health partnerships with Italy, as the government sharpens its focus on strengthening the country’s healthcare system and achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
He revealed the development on Thursday through his social media accounts.
Duale said Kenya is seeking to expand its health partnership with Italy as part of efforts to strengthen Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
“Kenya and Italy share a strong partnership anchored in advancing health systems and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Building on ongoing collaboration in areas such as healthcare infrastructure in Malindi, telemedicine and workforce training, both countries are well positioned to deepen cooperation, “he said in a statement.
He said ongoing collaboration in healthcare infrastructure, telemedicine, and training has laid a strong foundation for deeper cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Environment CS Deborah Barasa and Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi, alongside officials from the National Treasury and the Ministry of Mining.
