The Kenya aviation sector has returned to normal operations after key stakeholders reached an agreement following high-level consultations and negotiations.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, that the agreement was reached following talks chaired by Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir.
The negotiations brought together Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua, the Principal Secretaries handling Aviation and Aerospace Development, KCAA CEOs, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and Jambojet.
Also involved were Moss Ndiema, KAWU’s Secretary General, and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
Among the issues resolved was the collective bargaining agreement between KCAA & KAWU as well as the Recognition Agreement (Jambojet & KAWU).
The parties agreed that no employee will be victimised based on the industrial action taken.
KCAA said the agreement took effect immediately, paving the way for normal aviation operations to resume.
In a press release, KCA expressed thanks to all players for their support and willingness to work out a peace solution.
It also expressed appreciation to passengers, air operators and other aviation stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the disruption.
