Kenya Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has disclosed that the country wants to use its strong bilateral relationship with Germany to extend its collaboration in areas that are of critical importance to the nation.

On Wednesday, Mudavadi had long bilateral talks with Germany Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Johann Wadephul, who is on a two, day official visit to the country.

The conversation covered the issue of deepening collaboration in the main sectors such as migration and mobility, climate change and renewable energy and also resulted in the agreement to have enhanced cooperation at the multilateral level. The two leaders emphasized the need for closer engagement so that they can effectively address the shared global and regional challenges.

Mudavadi and Wadephul also discussed the regional situation with respect to peace and security, focusing on the conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They pledged to continue supporting peace initiatives by Africans that are aimed at achieving stability and development in the region.

During the conversation, Kenya and Germany expressed their strong determination to work hand in hand in order to advance peace, economic growth and climate change both regionally and at the global level.

The visit by the German foreign minister underscores the growing importance of Kenya–Germany relations and the shared commitment to addressing both regional and global challenges through partnership and cooperation.
